Happy Easter to Everyone

Stay Safe and Hopefull
As the weather warms, we all think about a time when we all can soon enjoy our Lake and Friends.

Association Dues are now being accepted, April 1 - May 1

From the Park Manager

ATTENTION CO-OWNERS  IMPORTANT

We have set up a new drop box located in the mail shack for anyone that wishes to make a payment when the office is closed.  You may drop a SEALED envelope with your name, lot number and payment(s) in Box D-1. (left side of mail shack door, at the far end, top left corner).  It is highly advised NOT TO DROP CASH in the box.

Please remember when paying the Association Dues, RV tax, a mail box rental, or just paying any invoice, make separate checks for each payment.   All of these payments are deposited in separate bank accounts and entered separately in our Bookkeeping program for accounting purposes.

Once we resume regular business hours, you will be required to come into the office to fill out the Annual packet paperwork and to receive your new car stickers and boathouse passes.  Your receipt for any payment(s) will be with your Annual Packet. I will keep you updated through Facebook as to when that date is announced.

I am working from home and able to check for emails and retrieving phone messages daily.   I do go to the office to collect the mail every couple of days.

If you call 989-288-2616, Please leave a message with your name, lot number and call back number if you are finding it a financial burden to pay by May 1st.  I will call to work with you, to the best of my ability, in order to help.  You must do this before May 1st.

So until this all has been lifted, please stay safe by staying home.  We will get through this and get back to the lake soon.

Letter from the Board

Fellow Leisure Lakers,

As many of you know Michigan has been placed under a shelter in place executive order signed by the governor of the state. as part of the executive order only essential business shall remain open and only essential employees shall remain at work for those businesses. Because we are not considered essential we are obligated to cease operations by 12:01am on 3/24/2020. Effective immediately all employees who commute to the lake for work or work in contact with other people are being asked to stay home until further notice. The current scheduled return to work date is 4/14/2020 but it should be noted that this is a fluid situation and may change with little or no notice.

We will be canceling the scheduled open meeting an elections scheduled for April for several reasons. First off we need to protect the co-owners of Leisure Lake from any undue exposure to this potentially deadly Covid-19 virus. Secondly we are currently under a state order not to hold any meetings with more than 10 people. Because of this situation we are canceling the open meeting and we will reschedule it once the moratoriums have been lifted and it is safe to hold the meeting. currently we should expect this meeting to take place in early June but it is a very fluid situation and could change. I have spoke with our current board regarding extending the terms of those seats which are currently up for re-election to make sure they are in agreement and willing to stay on until we can safety hold the elections.

I would also like to address the association dues which are due 5/1/2020 which many co-owners have inquired about. We are not going to change the due date for the 2020/2021 association dues at this time. If you are able to pay your dues on time please do so as these dues are what we need to operate the business and pay for services such as staffing, garbage pickup, electricity, upkeep and repairs. Our current budget only takes us through 5/1/2020 and if we don't receive association dues we have no operating funds to run the business. If you are financially impacted by the current situation we will do everything in our power to work with you through these difficult time. Please reach out to Cindy Warner in the office via email if you are in a hardship and can not pay your assessment on time and we will make arrangements on a case by case basis.

Once the executive order is lifted we will likely still be operating under restrictions provided by the government and it will certainly take some time to bring all operations back online once we are released to do so. Please be patient as we all work through this very difficult time together and before we know it we will all be back at the lake and able to enjoy what we all love so much.

Thank you for your patience,

Jason J. Nierescher, President
